Major Crypto Theme: Fractionalizing assets?
Source: https://fries.fund/
Maybe this is obvious to everyone, but time and again it appears that one of the major uses for crypto and DAOs is to fractionalize the ownership of some asset that is too costly for an everyday person to purchase outright. I’ve talked about Lofty.ai — which is fractionalizing real estate, — Fries fund — here wants to buy fast-food restaurants — and of course, there are numerous DAOs and NFTs for owning part of a car collection or art investment.
I see the appeal — letting the everyday person have access to the kinds of investments that previously required significant capital to consider. I’m excited to see how DAOs like fries fund work out — I’m confident we will see major successes and Fyre festival-like scams/disasters. It feels like this is very early days — lots of experiments and lots will go wrong!
Why are ZipCars always so clean?
ZipCar has a team that drives around and cleans each car. I love these little operational details. What is the cadence with which they wash each car?
After a car is used, how do they confirm it wasn’t left super dirty — inside and out? Do they ask the renter to take photos? I’ve actually never used a ZipCar so I don’t know.
Now that I know what to look for, I see the ZipCar cleaning crew 2x per week cleaning one of the ZipCars near our place.

So fun that this data is collected and presented. How do we make this useful? Is this what Wolfram Alpha could ultimately be — a single interactive terminal that aggregates data and makes it useful? Google — isn’t this your job?
I love it — a Twitter bot that is really just a RaspberryPi AIS tracking station taking pictures of passing boats, identifying them, and posting.
