Pave bikes - https://www.pavemotors.com/platform
You buy an electric bike. You get the bike + an NFT
Now you can control who has access to your bike based on who has the NFT
You can also rent your bike out to anyone with the Pave app and a Pave NFT. You can set rules for where the bike must be returned, the rate, etc.
Renting your bike out is secured by a crypto deposit - if not returned, not in the correct place, or damaged — you keep the crypto deposit.
Takeaway: It is now easy to establish and run a system for authorizing users, managing a security deposit, and defining acceptable outcomes in software.
Bike messenger in NYC
Great read on how hard it is to be an UberEats/DoorDash/etc bike-based delivery person in NYC.
Arrow has an excellent eBike + service model for delivery bikers - allowing for free tune-ups, and a quick way to do bike re-charging
Delivery folks need a place to recharge — and have resorted to renting a parking space as a group - to get access to electricity/bathrooms/a place to rest.
